russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 He is sporting a new pair of Nike Bauer Vapor goalie pads to go with the trapper and blocker that he used last year. gone are the Brian's from last year. After going 3 years with the same pads he is now on his 2nd pair in less then a year. The Itech's that he wore for years The Brian's that he switched to last year The New Nike-Bauer Vapors Glad that Ozzie is making the switch in training camp this year and not practicing with one set of pads and playing with another, I think that is part of where the struggles to control rebounds came from last year. I am hpowever surprised he isn't wearing the Brian's for the whole season, since he is not one to change equipment all that often. New pads look sharp though, and he is doing it in the right order this year.
digitaljohn88 4 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 Looking good. I'm pretty sure those are the pads he started practicing with last year. It seems to take him a while to break pads into game shape.

russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted September 14, 2009 Now all he gotta do is get rid of that ugly helmet and get a proper one I love the birdcage. It is a fun mask to wear. I used to wear one when I played street hockey, and i switched to a traditional goalie mask for ice hockey because i got the mask for free. With the birdcage I always felt I had a wider peripheral vision in order to see more of the play.

aw1340 0 Report post Posted September 15, 2009 Now all he gotta do is get rid of that ugly helmet and get a proper one He would look so strange in a regular helmet. Cloutier switched to one when he first joined the Kings but went back to the ugly one.

But, we had all the complaints when Anaheim's goalie was wearing black pads, and the officials lost sight of the puck.
Ernesto_182 1 Report post Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) Yeah, he changed to some new Bauer's! I've got a better pic where you can see them better while he talks with McCollum and his sick Brian's (love them and love his mask too) Edited September 15, 2009 by Ernesto_182

cboth686 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2009 white also reflects light more abundantly and thus usually appears larger which is why a lot of goalie's are going with all white schemes more and more...yeah, i learned something in college, so there
