Systemfel 33 Report post Posted October 5, 2009 (edited) They got Calhoun to do the PA work because he has never missed working a Blues home game since he has had the job. So technicaly, he would have missed a home game had he not done the game. But I think Calhoun does a great job. He's one of the best in the business...so it's not like they brought in some ****** to do it.But he did both games. Only one of the games was a "home" game for St. Louis. I just wanted the second game to have some more goddamn Wings stuff. Get it? Haha were you that annoying dude who was screaming that all the time... and stuffs like "Todd Bertuzzi - say no more!" etc?I was not. Grateful Gadsby 10 Report post Posted October 5, 2009 Look buddy, I've been posting here a lot longer than you have. And I know exactly where I am. This being a Wings forum doesn't give people carte blanche to say stupid things. I've been a member here for a long time, and if I see someone post something stupid, especially about the team I root for, then I'm going to call them on it. And I did so in a respectful way. You should try it some time. If you don't want to be reminded of there being another team on the ice, then maybe people shouldn't make comments like, "the Blues didn't win those games, the Wings lost them." That was a stupid thing to say. Sorry, but it was. The Blues earned those victories. To belittle their effort just to make yourselves feel better about losing, is pathetic. The sooner you realize that, the better. And your comment about Blues fans not caring about winning...huh? what? That's just stupid. After that comment, it looks like you're the 12 year old...if not, your 12 year old impression is spot on. Congrats. You'll have it mastered by the time you actually turn 12. Blues fans live to beat the Red Wings. We hate the Wings so much, it's like a playoff game to us every time we play. And it doesn't make a damn bit of difference if Wings fans feel the same way, that has nothing to do with it. The hate is primarily between Blues fans and the Wings players. If the Wings come back and win the season series between the Blues and go on to dominate the Central again, then ok, you can make a case for the Wings not being prepared or playing very poorly or whatever you want to say to get around giving the Blues credit for playing well and battling from behind. But until then...your team just got flat out beat...twice. And you know, I'm sorry the Blues aren't Disney on Ice for you. Hockey is supposed to be a rough game...and the Blues play a physical style. I know you're not used to that style in Detroit...so I forgive you. Have a nice day. LOL. Whatever "style" the Blues play, you know better than I that it has never amounted to jack squat, right? Never accomplished a damn thing in the 40+ year history of the franchise. (If that translates into orgasmic joy for you each time the Blues beat the Wings, it's certainly understandable.) As for the style we're used to in Detroit, it's the one that wins Cups, as you know all too well -- otherwise you wouldn't be trolling here satisfying yourself with some self-styled need to call out posters for their comments that you (unilaterally, as a fan of another team) feel may be "stupid." Your candor speaks volumes. Do you really have some deep-seated psychological need to share your "hate between Blues fans and Wings players" on a Wings board? As I suggested earlier, maybe you should try therapy to figure out why that is. It really belongs on a Blues board, where your pals do little more than fantasize about players on opposing teams being carted off the ice on stretchers. It's a "style" that's never amounted to anything for the Blues or their fans for 40+ years, but if it makes you feel better, have at it, friend.
_Gassoff 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2009 LOL. Whatever "style" the Blues play, you know better than I that it has never amounted to jack squat, right? Never accomplished a damn thing in the 40+ year history of the franchise. The Blues, while never winning the Stanley Cup, have gone to the finals three times, and have accomplished plenty. See, this is what makes you sound so ignorant. We know all about the past. I have been following the team since 1967, so yes, I know this. You should be very proud of what your team has accomplished in the past. That's great. I'm also a St. Louis Cardinals fan, so I know EXACTLY what it is like to be a fan of "the team to beat" every season. Understand, that when you have had so much success, your team is the standard by which the contenders measure themselves. The Blues have brand new ownership and management, including John Davidson, that is building a franchise the right way. What happened in the past, is in the past, it has no bearing on the future.
