Superman54 91 Report post Posted October 6, 2009 (edited) Hope to see Helm on thursday. I think him and Bertuzzi would be productive together. Helm has that spark to ignite Bert, and Then Zetterberg and Datsyuk can play together like they should. my lines: Zetterberg - Datsuk - Holmstrom Franzen - Filppula - Cleary Bertuzzi - Helm - Leino Williams - Draper - Maltby/Eaves Edited October 6, 2009 by Superman54
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted October 6, 2009 THIS ...could work. I know, eh? I just go with combos that we've seen work in the past and hope for the best. Not sure why Mike's obsessed with splitting Dats and Z up, but he's the NHL coach with a cup ring and I'm the armchair coach, so what do I know? I just miss that D and Z magic... FinWing 26 Report post Posted October 6, 2009 Holmstrom is actually 6.00 while Abdelkader is 6.02 and Leino 6.10. But still Homer is arguably the best in front of the in this team (one of the best in the league still). 6 feet 10 inches? Not quite. Not to be a smartass, just sayin'. Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted October 6, 2009 (edited) 6 feet 10 inches? Not quite. Not to be a smartass, just sayin'. 6 point 1 feet. Didn't say anything about 6 feet 10 inches. Leino is 186cm tall so if you change that into feets you get 6.1. (even if some sources say he's 185cm, then you would still get 6.07 (~6.10)) edit: 6'10'' = 6 feet 10 inches 6.10 feet = 6 point 10 feet Okay, that was unnessecary zero at the end there, made things more complicated. I think I screwed up with Homer and Abbys heights though, but Leino is 6'1'' for real so he's not small guy either. Maybe I just use the x' y'' type for now on. : D Edited October 6, 2009 by Finnish Wing

The right way to indicate height in feet is indeed x feet y inches (x'y"), not x point y feet. I know it sounds nitpicky and we're Finns anyway so why should we care. Lidstrom for life 20 Report post Posted October 6, 2009 Do you think there is anything to the fact that Helm was listed as working in on the second line? I thought that was a bit odd. Sorry to you know...put the thread back on topic...

Sorry to you know...put the thread back on topic... Maybe they want to keep Pavel's line and Flip's line intact and rotate guys on the other two..?

e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted October 6, 2009 (edited) I want him back in the line-up where he will make a difference. On the energy line. If chemistry is what the team needs, then we need to see some lines stay consistent for a bit. See what works and what doesn't. Two games does not give a good indication of the problems. EDIT: Removal of bordering on "baiting" comments Edited October 6, 2009 by e_prime

That's an interesting question. I'm surprised with the hatred that you have for Holmstrom, that you'd have him on a line at all. I just don't think that Helm is ready (or quite possibly will ever be) for first line minutes. I'm quite surprised to see him being worked in on the second. The guy makes a huge difference on the third line and there is NOTHING WRONG with having him slotted there. B-W-L was ripped apart on this board due to the envisioned lack of defensive effort. I figure we wear out Holmstrom during the regular season and sub Abdelkader for him at the start of the playoffs.
