CenterIce 83 Report post Posted October 14, 2009 Maybe a Lebda or Meech for Brunnstrom trade? ESPN Insider: The Stars are looking for a puck-moving defenseman, but they don't want to trade winger James Neal or Loui Eriksson, the Edmonton Journal reports. They will, however, part with Fabian Brunnstrom. The 24-year-old Swede is a restricted free agent at the end of this season.
Zetts 236 Report post Posted October 14, 2009 Meh. Maybe...although I'd prefer not to. Brunnstrom doesn't satisfy any need for us, and defensive depth is always valuable, even if Lebda and Meech aren't MVP calibre players.
Yellowknife Redwing 57 Report post Posted October 14, 2009 I would gladly trade Meech for Brunnstrom. We've got Lebda, hopefully Lilja soon, Kindl if need be, and Delmore has considerable NHL experience and would very easily fill the forward/defenseman spot that Meech occupies. I just don't think the Stars would part with their prized FA acquisition. There is something that rings quite nicely about Brunnstrom/Filpulla/Leino though. Motown4013 350 Report post Posted October 14, 2009 There is no way that the stars give up Fabian for Lebs IMO. He has a lot of talent and he will be an impact player in a few years...Lebda will never be better than a 3rd line guy
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 15, 2009 If this were NHL10, I'd just ante up Eaves+Rafalski+2nd for Morrow+Niskanen and be done with it.
mmamolo 287 Report post Posted October 15, 2009 Personally i dont know if Brunnstrom really makes us any better but someone made a good point about being able to move either Lebda or Meech and it not really hurting our defensive depth too much if Lilja returned and if Delmore and/or Kindl got some games in. Problem is, no way does Dallas move Brunnstrom for such a small return.
