A little glimmer of hope...

I know that lately everybody has been really ummm for lack of a better word... bummed out about how the Wings have started the season. I haven't really heard anyone mention it in many of the other topics and might have missed it but I am excited for Thursday's game because I believe Z is starting to get on track. He missed a lot of training camp so these are kinda his preseason games to get up to speed. It seemed to me that in the game against Buffalo, even though we got slaughtered you have to try to take as much good out of it as you can. It seemed like Hank had a couple good scoring chances but just couldn't find the back of the net... I dont know if I am alone in my thinking but I feel that tomorrow night's game could be one where he starts to find the net and scoresheet on a more regular basis. I am far from panic mood but with all the new personnel it would be a huge help if ZDB could take a big stride in tomorrow's game and become one of the best lines in the league again.... It would take a lot of weight off the 2nd and 3rd lines shoulders, but also let a lot of fans take a sigh of relief and realize we have a great team in front of us..... Here is to tomorrow's game and hopefully a break out night from Hank... You heard it here first... E5

Little something to get a smile on some faces around here...

Dats has set up Z plenty of times this season when they have been together, and his shot has been off the mark by quite a bit. I dont know what his problem is. If he was 100%, he would have 4 goals already, and Dats would have assisted all of them.

I dont see any hope until Z starts putting them in the back of the net.

i agree... I thought Z started looking like his old self in the Buffalo game... although we got killied, Z was one of the guys who stood out and looked good, along with Helm... Even with out Dats tonight, i see Z havin a break out game with the kings......... lets hope

Yeah, the biggest thing I have noticed has been his shot. It seems off right now, but everything else seems OK. He still seems a little sluggish, but then again so does the whole team.

Not worried though, he'll come around.

I want to see Hank do more stuff like this:

..except, you know, score too. It seems rare nowadays to see him really challenge a defender and create a scoring chance. Too often his shots are from bad angles and I think that's part of why he has some trouble scoring. A lot of shots, but most of them low % ones.

With Datsyuk out tonight a heavy burden falls on Z's shoulders to bring it offensively in tonights game. I still believe he can score 50 goals in a season if he stays healthy , but he needs to start becoming more confident again and sometimes go straight to goal himself instead of turning around and looking for teammates.
