The name typeface is pretty standard. I don't think it's custom. I want to say it's something like Steelhead or something like that.

What I'd like to know is the typeface for the Detroit Red Wings logo. Now that might be custom, but I bet there's something out there that's pretty similar.

The font for the logo is very similar to Bookman Old Style.

As far as the actual jersey font, I would download a photo of whoever's jersey you want to replicate (or whoever's last name has the letters you need) and create vectors out of the outlines on photoshop or illustrator, then create your own font, or use them as brushes.

OMFG you're right. They are very similar. Thanks for pointing that out, sincerely. I've been wondering what typeface that was for years.

And thanks Echolalia for the link.

Looks to me like one of the swash variety.

Oh and back to the name typeface, I think it really is Steel-something. I think even Matt posted that maybe a year or two ago.

Man if only there was some website to find the Wings font easily. Oh well, I think you're stuck doing all that work of vectorizing the letters.

I can't tell if this is a joke or not...

uhh... did you guys not see this? click on this, download the hockey (and/or Hockey NEW) files, paste them in your C:\Windows\Fonts folder, and voila! all NHL teams font! (or just put the Red Wings font, if you want)

No I didn't see it, but thanks for quoting your post so I could. However I'm blocked from seeing it.

This is the coolest reply I have seen on this board yet. 5 stars.
