I find this arguement interesting by Ken and Larry...

They are saying with the banning of the hooking and obstruction that slowed players down there is more of an opportunity for plays like what happened to Johnson.

The theory is that in the pre-lockout NHL Lids would have hooked him and slowed him down, so if he did fall it wouldn't have been as huge of an impact.

To be honest it makes alot of sense. I also made that argument to people who would listen in the first post lock out season.

I agree that Ken and Larry brought up a good point...if Lids had hooked Johnson then:

1) he would have slowed down

2) he would probably have fallen long before he got near the boards and just had a sore butt...

Gary Buttman, the price you pay for "higher scoring" is 1 in 7 NHL players are hurt (at least according to Kenny and Larry)

I really do agree with them that a little clutch and grab and Johnson doesn't wind up head first into the boards...
