He really didn't "tweet" that, did he?

From TSN :

Jaroslav Halak's agent Allan Walsh seems to have created a bit of controversy in Montreal with regards to a comment he made on Twitter after the Canadiens' 3-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night.

Walsh tweeted the following on Saturday night: “Interesting stat of the night....Price is 10W, 32L in last 42 starts. Hmm.â€

The tweet caused an uproar with fans of the Canadiens and members of the media.

After receiving questions about the tweet, Walsh eventually posted the following as a response: “It was a tongue in cheek comment not meant to be taken seriously, forgot it was Montreal and everyone loses a sense of humor."

Walsh's response was total BS, it's plainly obvious what he is trying to do.

He is being a good player agent really.

His client is only 2 years older then Price at 24 and has better stats and more wins then Price (in less games played then Price he has 2 more wins).

He knows that unless Halak becomes a starting goalie soon he is going to be a back up until he is a UFA and can leave Montreal.

He is bartering for his client to get a shot at being a starter so that he can make more money and be a starter for his career not a career back up...

It was a poor attempt at a "spin" by him, that's for sure.

Poor attempt but the message was clear and its a message that has been debated in Montreal for years.

Julien was fired for playing Huet over Theodore, then they realized that Theodore was crap and traded him.

Huet was traded to ensure that Price would get full playing time when he was recalled.

Carby was fired because he played Halak over Price down the stretch.

Now is Halak better then Price???

Its a solid spin, just not done in a classy way.

Twitter shouldn't really be this huge innovation in how we communicate, but it tends to SEEM like that because people don't understand that posting something on Twitter isn't any different than if you were carrying around a microphone with you 24/7. I don't know much about sports agent do's and dont's, but I'm guessing that criticizing/mocking teammates of your player is not a classy or effective means of promoting your client. Halak and Price should have a friendly competition, but it also should be a working relationship, and now Halak's agent is basically putting words in his mouth.

Yeah, when you post stats that show someone blatantly sucks, you can't really say that's tongue in cheek. Is he implying that Price is good, and his awful stats show that? Then it would be tongue in cheek. But then it wouldn't make sense, either.

They need to get Price out of Montreal before the poor kid kills himself. I never thought I'd see him in Montreal again after his quasi-meltdown in the playoffs last year.

Bad enough having to deal with Montreal fans, but cut-throat agents too.. nasty

I feel bad for anyone who has to play in Montreal. That whole area is beyond psychotic.

Pretty much how I see it. We don't have to like it as fans (and I don't), but that's how his job's done effectively.

...and just like that, the sucktitude of the guy standing in his client's way is a story yet again.

Tweeting is out of control and it isn't just agents;

Adrian Dater called out the Oilers via Tweet last night:

Can't win 'em all at home. A shame the Avs had to finally lose to a dog team like Edmonton at home, though.

For which David Staples of Edmonton Journal called him out using a standard Edmontonian line of comparing the city of Denver to Calgary.

Adrian Dater is a useless used douchebag (as opposed to a useful used douchebag?). He is probably one of the most blatant s*** talkers in the media. Ignore him at all cost. He admits he stirs the pot just get a reaction and it appears he's trying the same lame tactic with his tweets as well.
