stuck in socal 56 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 So the question is; do the Wings continue to keep Howard in goal? Probably going to resort back to Ozzie.
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 Despite the lack of points, Leino's been a big part of that. His puck retrieval and ability to hold and dish the puck have been really important to that line's success. At least one of Z's first goal came due in part to Leino's hard work against the Duck puck carrier. Leino finally looks like Leino on this line. I kind of hope they keep him with Z... edicius 3,269 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 So the question is; do the Wings continue to keep Howard in goal? Love Ozzie, but ride Howard while we can. Even though he didn't have a particularly strong game tonight, I say we stick with him for the time being. Ozzie's out with the flu anyway, so we may not have a choice otherwise, depending on how severe his flu is.
tdinc 45 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 Howard looking sharp the past 2 games. Great game by the Wings. The Ducks always scare me. but Z put on a Show!!! GO WINGS!!!!
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 Probably going to resort back to Ozzie. Oh Ozzie will surely get the goal back. The Wings know they have to have Ozzie hot going into the playoffs. Howard's strong play, if it continues through the season will be critical for him because he has to prove to Holland that he doesn't have to shop for a veteran back-up at the deadline. Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 Well he's no Filppula.... Luckily Zetterberg is here to hold the fort while Filppula's injured.

RusDRW 155 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 I would say do not touch these lines! Once Franzen, Fil and Williams return reunite them and put instead of the current 3rd line.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 hopefully these 2 meet in playoffs should be some good hockey No thanks. You guys wore the Wings down so badly they were just a bunch of walking wounded when they finally met the Pens.

Here's what I'd do with the full roster all healthy: Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Leino-Zetterberg-Ceary Bertuzzi-Filppula-Williams Draper-Helm-Eaves

If everything is gelling like it is now when we have all 3 back, then yeah and I could see your point. Heck, that is one scary 3rd line.
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 Cleary: 1G, 2A and a team best +3. Eaves: 1A and a team second best +2.

Rivalred 630 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 Probably going to resort back to Ozzie. Think they should stick with Howard. Love Ozzie, but ride Howard while we can. Even though he didn't have a particularly strong game tonight, I say we stick with him for the time being. Ozzie's out with the flu anyway, so we may not have a choice otherwise, depending on how severe his flu is. Agreed... Plus there were indications from another thread that Ozzie was talking to the trainer about a sore groin. One of the Wings fans was sitting behind the Wings bench during a game and overheard him talking about it or something. Oh Ozzie will surely get the goal back. The Wings know they have to have Ozzie hot going into the playoffs. Howard's strong play, if it continues through the season will be critical for him because he has to prove to Holland that he doesn't have to shop for a veteran back-up at the deadline. Team should ride Howard until things go south.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 hopefully these 2 meet in playoffs should be some good hockey Not sure I could take another series between these two teams.. the last series was like when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. But yeah, always good hockey when they face off. Just bad for the heart.
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted November 15, 2009 Not sure I could take another series between these two teams.. the last series was like when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. But yeah, always good hockey when they face off. Just bad for the heart. Let me start out by saying that I don't want a series against the Ducks, either. But this is a much different Ducks team. Losing Pronger and Beauchemin was a huge blow to the defense corps. I told my buddy who's a Ducks fan that Pronger was the real MVP of that team, not Niedermayer. Nothing I've seen so far this season is changing my mind. Love him or hate him, Pronger sets the tone for any team he plays on. He's lighting things up in Philly, but for the Ducks, he was a steadying force and a guy who made everyone play heads up.
