kook_10 1,705 Report post Posted November 19, 2009 (edited) http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?i...ce=NHLHeadlines The NHL's rival league hopes to expand into Sweden next season. Russia's KHL, in its second year of operation, announced Thursday it has signed a letter of intent with AIK Stockholm that would see the second-division Swedish club join its league next season. Thats sounds like relatively big news, despite being a lower league team. Their rubles could still disrupt the Wings talent pipeline. Maybe someone from LGW's Swedish contingent can tell us how respectable the second division is. Edited November 19, 2009 by kook_10
WpgMikos 17 Report post Posted November 19, 2009 Surprised the title wasn't Russia invades Sweden. Shouldn't the KHL be solidifying some of its failing teams before expanding?
evilmrt 636 Report post Posted November 19, 2009 Red Wings draft pick Johan Ryno plays for AIK. Do we still have his rights or did we just lose him?
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted November 20, 2009 Red Wings draft pick Johan Ryno plays for AIK. Do we still have his rights or did we just lose him? I'm pretty sure the IIHF agreements are still in place.

Isn't Ryno another one of those "I wanted to play for the Wings, but now I just want to be in Sweden/Russia?" players?
