Guest Four Report post Posted December 1, 2009 Rofl he goes for a hit and misses? So what? If this was Stuart, you guys wouldn't be saying s***. Same with his last hit, reminds me of Kronwall vs Havlat, does it not? ******* hypocrites man.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 So Gleason wasn't injured? I bet no suspension comes. He wasn't able to return, but I'm sure he's not hurt bad and maybe that's what the NHL will grab hold to avoid too much of a suspension.
Superman54 91 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) haha clean? It was Ovechkin, and the playoffs, so people just let it slide. In my opinion, Ovy had no intent to move his knee out of the way when he collided with Gonchar. Edited December 1, 2009 by Superman54

Carman 387 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) I can see people defending the Gonchar hit, I think it was dirty but it certainly wasn't cut and dry. But this one has no counter arguement. It's just plain dirty. Instant karma as well. I have absolutely no sympathy for knee to knee hits. Ovechkin has a list of at least questionable hits already, he needs to tone down his play. He is too good of a player to injure himself on a play like that. Edited December 1, 2009 by Carman
Guest Four Report post Posted December 1, 2009 What are you babbling on about, now? Didn't think it took anyone past first grade to understand my post, eh. I'm not saying he shouldn't get a game or two, as constant accidents or not deserve to be punished, but I fail to see how that was intent to injure, when he went to hit the guy. Carman 387 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 This isn't just an accident, he has been playing along the line of dirty for a while. I don't agree that most of the hits in the video are dirty, but they are close. And the Gleason hit is as dirty as they get.
jeff48109 474 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 So, never thought about this, but if he is suspended for the next 5 games, but is also injured and can't play anyway for about 5 games, is he allowed to come back and play in the 6th game? I'm almost certain the answer is yes, but it doesn't quite seem fair. i think if he's suspended he doesn't get his paycheck. do injured players lose their paycheck (dont think so) for the games they miss through injury? Why would Ovechkin knee of all players GLEASON on purpose? Why not someone who is actually good? He had an intent to hit, you can see him leaning in to it. Even though it was an accident, (ill say this again), he should get a game or two.

The NHL needs Ovechkin on the ice scoring goals.
Guest Four Report post Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) Only one guy mentioned it was intentional. I'll say again, what are you babbling on about? I'm babbling on about everyone saying it's dirty. Normally dirty hits are intentional hits, remember Liambas' hit and everyone yelled at me for saying it wasn't dirty because it was an accident? Yeah, there yeah go. And if you have a problem with me, PM me. What do you get by annoying 17 year olds anyway? Edit: I've PM'd you 3 times in the past month about you being rude and you can't even take the time to talk to me one on one, yet result in bugging me on the forum? You're hysterical, mister. dicksmack 33 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 Not as bad as Laraque's as at least Ovi threw a shoulder and a knee, whereas Laraque's was all knee and was a blatant attempt to injure. 3-5 games are in order I should think.

He's too excited and tries to throw his weight around, but whose to tell him to play calmly? It would ruin who he is, and the enjoyment he provides. Injuries are a part of the game. @Dick, agreed. Or at least impact the length and effectiveness of his career. He doesn't need to stop playing physical, he just needs to redefine his limits. Injuries are becoming TOO much of a part of the game this season. Especially on hits that can be controlled.

Please, find where I called you a name in this thread. Seems you are making things up now, since I called you a "name" in PMs after you started bugging me. And way to flip the script buddy. Keep it in the PMs, I have no idea why you are so obligated to post arguments on the forum, but can't do it privately.

edicius 3,269 Report post Posted December 1, 2009 I'm a huge Ovie fan, but even I can't defend him with this one. That said, I'd be surprised if he gets more than a couple games. If it's good enough for Matt Cooke...
