wingnut40 176 Report post Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) I will forever love Ty Conklin! It is kinda funny that he's played in that many Winter Classics. Good article. Edited December 2, 2009 by wingnut40

I still kind of hold out hope that next season or the year after he comes back to Detroit.
Shady Ultima 40 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 I like the guy as well, but it is HIGHLY unlikely he will ever find his way back to Detroit. I do hope he finds a place where he gets a chance to be a starter though.
miller76 463 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 I liked Conklin too. I thought he did a pretty decent job here. But I bet he would trade in those Winter Classic appearances for the two Cups he barely missed out on!

Don't forget, he almost got one with the oilers a few years ago, got that nasty turnover to lose the game

I do hope he finds a place where he gets a chance to be a starter though. Hmmm...one of our goalies went to St. Louis. HIGHLY unlikely he'll come back? I say it's highly likely that he will come back. St. Louis seems to be a trading camp for our goalies.
Shady Ultima 40 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 I always wonder why I hear that. Aside from Osgood, what other goalie have we gotten back from St. Louis? They always pick up our leftovers, I'll agree there. Osgood, Legace, now Conklin, but only Ozzy came back to us. Besides, with Ozzy, Howard, Larrson and McCallum in our system, we don't really need another goalie for some time.
