haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 Wow first game I've missed all season, glad I missed it. At least Bertuzzi was in 100% of the teams scoring tonight . Saw a few highlights, was Ericsson injured before or after that horrendous defensive effort on the Nilsson goal? I believe it was after, but that's a mistake that's very very costly. It's one thing to misplay a puck, or make a bad pass. But he looked like a forward on that one. PLAY THE BODY BIG RIG. Howard didn't seem to have a great game, but it doesn't look like he had much help if any. Oh and people calling for Tatar. Please please no. He hasn't been doing anything that extraordinary for an AHL prospect. It's just he is so young that's all. He's all about potential, not actual substance at least not yet. Give him at least half a year before you proclaim him as anything more than a promising prospect. Ericsson was injured after. He got absolutely schooled on that one, but other than that mistake I'd say he had a good game. He's looking calmer in his own zone with the puck, made nice outlet passes, even jumped into the offense a little without taking himself out of the play defensively, and he's finally starting to speed up his slapshot so he can get it through guys and on net. Howard didn't have a lot of help, but the third goal was brutal. Yes it was a deflection off Datsyuk, but I think it was out by the faceoff circle and was moving slow after that. If he gets his pad down on the ice, the puck stops. The Wings looked like the Bad News Bears out there at times. Passes were rarely on the tape. Guys missing good scoring chances. Holmstrom ended up carrying the puck into the zone a bunch of times (how often have you seen that??) because so many of the other forwards looked out of sync and flustered by Edmonton standing them up.
