YouTube: Stuart's Big Hit

Apparently Mickey's comments are "kicking him when he's down".

Well ffs guys the player is already at the bench by the time he starts his entire tirade, so what the hell?

They do know that Anisimov can't hear Mickey all the way down on the ice, right?

Great hit, and not to be rude to the handicapped, but Hellen Keller could have seen Stu coming with her head up, he telegraphed that hit, he stopped striding like 2 seconds before he hit him.

That is the type of that when tried on Datsyuk would have left Stuart wondering wher Dats went and why he is upside down in the bench and needing an ice bag.

I was at the game too. Lots of fun. Funny enough I took more abuse in Jersey than MSG. Moving on.

Anisimov even owned up to the fact that it was his lack of paying attention that made it such a big hit.

Anisimov took the blame for the potentially dangerous situation because he skated with his head down.

"It surprised me," said Anisimov, who played 13:22 with one shot as he centered the top line with Marian Gaborik and Vinny Prospal for the second straight game.

"I was looking at the puck. It was a good, clean hit. It was my fault."

People on HFBoards are idiots. Sports to the average schmuck are confusing, and when you collect all the low lying fruit in one place, of course the forum will contract stupid fever. Mick was right. Get your head up. I don't see how it was kicking him when he was down when A) he can't hear it, will never hear it, and if he did, he deserved to and B) Mick would've said the same thing about anyone on our team, or any team. Because it's true. Mick is honest and doesn't care if it sounds homerish. People who toss out the term homer are usually huge ones themselves and thus have no credentials for dishing out such an accusation.

As much as I like Mickey, I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I think he's pretty bias, sometimes feel like he might be the biggest Red Wings fan on the planet. He does occasionally give the opponent credit for a good hit or play but mostly it's all about the Wings...how they got screwed by the refs, how great our players are, etc.. Mickey's famous last words before a PP are "Not a good call....but the Red Wings will take it!", that's him TRYING to be unbiased. He does a great job and I'm glad he's still around, but his Red Wings bias is the reason I like him so much.

You ever notice how quiet he gets when the Wings are down a few goals? He's been better lately because it seems to a be a more common occurrence, but in years past during our 1st round playoff exits, he would become almost non-existent when we were down and playing an elimation game, I have no do doubt that it was because he was nervous or disappointed and at a loss for words.

gonna pay attention to his commentary tonight to see if you have an argument.
