TheUkranian, stay out of the cold, doll! there's a people mover stop IN Greektown! haha. Your pictures are aweome :)

Thanks for the picture compliments. I usually end up taking 200-300 at a time and only about 30-40 actually make it up to my account.

It wasn't that cold the two times I went there. It was just windy by the river, but I don't get cold as easy as my friends do haha. One of my friends is from Grosse Pointe and she thinks I'm crazy for walking around downtown Detroit by myself with a $600 camera in my hand, she tries to avoid going there by herself. It might be because I'm 6-1 and male, while she's 5-4 and looks like she's 15 haha. The people are quite friendly IMO, I ended up talking to about 4 or 5 different people along the river and the RenCen about architecture and cool places to take pictures. I plan on going once my second semester starts and there's some snow on the ground, but this time I'm going to pretty much mummify myself with clothing.

Just a FYI, I saw the Wings play the Rangers in MSG a few years ago (we lost - beginning of the Hasek-Cujo melt down) and the Rangers fans were great. I was wearing my Wings jersey and the meanest thing that happened to me al night was while leaving the game when some woman looked at me, saw my jersey and said, "Aw, poor baby." Everyone laughed and it was cool. You are getting plenty of good advice here, but I'm just hoping you get the same good treatment I did in NYC. I think you will.

Oh and when you do get to the area, make sure to come back to the boards and see what everyone on here is doing. There are always a few of us in the downtown area for the game or something, and despite what you might have heard about the detroit area and wings fans in general, most of us are quite friendly and always looking for fun people to hang out with haha, again just dont wear a Rangers jersey though lol

Yup nothing but class with Rangers fans. Was at both games last weekend against Devils and Rangers. Boy what a difference! Devils=trashy Rangers=awesome classy! Was sitting in sec 416 with my friend who's a Rags fan at MSG. Love the Garden. And low and behold the seat in front of me there was a Pens fan with a 09 Stanley Cup hat on backwards! Yeah I know. I was like WTF is this ******* doing here? I made a bet with the surrounding fans to flip it off his head. I was kidding but they were like , " do it!!" do it!" I wanted to so bad!! I t was fun. Rags and Wings it's original six. It's like a family really. kinda like when two motorcyclists pass each other on the road giving each other the sign.

haha. for being 5'2 and still getting scrutinized for ciggs at 25, i'm quite ballsy when it comes to walking around bad areas, myself. i don't know if i would do it with a $600 camera, though! I grew up in the burbs and am PLENTY used to the bad areas of downtown from going to shows. I'm comfortable with them, but always advise friends against the areas without company.

Sorry for grave robbing this thread, by the way, but i just kinda felt like replying since i checked back, esp since maybe the op may have lost it.

Again, gravey, let us know when you come here!
