Cajanek_Spielmacher 47 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 You seem to be an OK opponent-type fan, especially for a Blues' fan. But what I'm really, REALLY impressed with as I'm just certain we ALL are here, is your multi-linguistic background. Yessirreeeee.... Just for my Canadian antagonists. The Central is a dogfight this year. All 5 teams have a shot at the Central title this year which has been absent since 2000. It is an exciting time since ALL the games are important this season. Most of the posters here are fairly civil except when talking about Detroits goaltending. It looks like the 3rd time was a charm for St. Louis -- 1) Osgood, 2) Legace, 3) Conklin. BLUE font would be in order for my Texican responder I am sure he could respond to me in Spanish! See you on Feb. 9th!!
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 5 points away from being last place in the Western conference......2 points away from being last place in the division. Yeah, not good. OR... you could say we're in 9th place. The West, if you haven't noticed, is TOUGH AS f*** this year. Every team can make the playoffs, and it's even closer than it was last year. There are no bad teams in the West, not even the last placed Ducks. One game you might be in 11th place, then you win one and suddenly you're 5th.
Guest mindfly Report post Posted December 10, 2009 There aren't "obvious fundamental problems" with the team. We're getting good goaltending, lately the PK and defense have been quite good for the most part. No coach in the world could make Lebda into a Norris Candidate, Helm into a 20 goal scorer, Leino into a physical beast and Lidstrom a couple of years younger. Babcock is doing what he can with the material we have right now. Babs has taken this team to the SCF two years in a row. Now you want him fired because the Wings are not a top-seed despite their 5 million injuries? I would say if you can't score goals in hockey you got a major problem. dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 I would say if you can't score goals in hockey you got a major problem. How is Babcock to blame for Lidstrom hitting the post twice last night? For Bert missing a breakaway? For Conklin making huge saves? For our best goalscorer and our best offensive d-man (this year) being out with injuries? All teams get shutout every now and then.. all teams go through scoring droughts.. it's just that we're not used to it because we usually have scoring depth oozing out our asses, meaning that there's usually someone who is scoring. Now we basically have Hank and Pav who need to get everything done, with the other lines only being able to chip in a goal every other game. With Pav being off his game (how is Babs to blame for this?) that leaves Hank pretty alone out there. Panicking and firing your coach is not what to do in this situation. And it's not what Holland will do.

I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago and other than that, have lived in Michigan, Colorado, Arizona and Texas. Although it looks like we might end up on the Baha, my Spanish sucks, and I could respond more easily to you with my high school French. But I don't want to make you look bad, mon ami. And speaking of stereotyping, I'm a "she".

Hockeytown_Ryan 122 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 (edited) Bertuzzi has a better chance of the HoF then Datsyuk. Bertuzzi's best season>Datsyuk's best season. OUT OF YOUR MIND!.... The HOF is a career achievment.. not one season.... Pavel Datsyuk: Frank J. Selke Trophy Winner in 2008, 2009.... Winner of the NHL Plus/Minus Award 2008 Lady Byng Memorial Trophy Winner 2006, 2007, 2008,2009 Not including this seasons stats.... ( up till 2008-09 season ) 526 games played 522 pts. 2 time Stanley Cup champion. Todd Bertuzzi : 4 time most exciting player award for the Vancouver Canucks ( Not NHL award ) 9th place in overall scoring for the Canucks. 621 pts in 859 games dating to the end of the 2008-09 season. ( well off Pavel pace) more impressive resume goes to........... Datsyuk hands down... not to mention.... Pavs has a few more years to play so I think he will surpass Butuzzi in pts in a couple seasons... Guess I took the bait again.... but its hard to determine what is real with you.. sometimes you seem smart and with it.. other times .. not so much!
