1/19 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Capitals 3

Ozzie made some huge saves the last time he played against the Caps. Big game for him, big game for the Wings. Need to get some goals early.

We already played Washington and beat them, so I'll think it's incredibly likely we beat them again. I hope to see a solid effort out of Zetterberg and Datsyuk like last game against Chicago and with Leino back in the lineup, I hope he finally shows us something.

Guys, this is new for the wings. Having to battle from the outside looking in for that playoff spot. This team has proven to us time and time again that when it counts, they know how to get the job done. Ozzy particularly, knows what it takes to win when you're in a tight spot. (see past two post seasons). As I said yesterday, I feel very optimistic about the remainder of the season, and I think today could be the day the boys and especially ozzie step things up to that next level and start putting up a fight for that playoff spot. There's only so much time left and they know this.

I'm going to do my best to stay positive, but the caps are the highest scoring team in the league. I was already nervous when I thought Howard would be starting. Now that it's Ozzie, I am not the slightest bit confident. It seams that Osgood would have at least some rust. I have a bad feeling about tonight's game. Man let's I hope I'm wrong. Hope we light their asses up!

I work in the Dupont area (Washington, DC) so today during my lunch brake I was walking near Mayflower hotel on Connecticut Avenue and I see Mr. Babcock in person, 5 min. later Lilja, Kronwall, May, Franzen hoped in a cab and took off from the hotel. I hope it will be a good game and wings funs will have a good presence at the Verizon Center.

Is anyone else watching Red Wings Live? Is it just me or does it seem like Larry Murphy is totally slurring?

I stayed at the hotel that the team stays at in San Jose the night before their game against the Sharks, and my boyfriend and I ended a night of bar hopping at our hotel's bar, where we saw Murph HAMMERED. He kept trying to drink wine out of an already empty glass. It was a trip.

Gonna be a difficult game for Ozzie, as he hasn't played a full game in, what, a month. I wouldn't be surprised if Ozzie lets in a softie or two (well, ones that don't involve his 5-hole).

4-3 Wings over the Caps, hopefully. Theodore is 2-9 against the Wings in his career, so hopefully that'll help.
