"We thought we'd done a pretty good job. A 4-2 lead with a couple minutes left," Wings' coach Mike Babcock said. "Anyway you look at it, it's a tough loss for us. We were in a situation for us to get two points and them to get none. Then they end up with two and we get one and it doesn't help build any confidence either."

Nice re-hash of the game, Mikie. NOW HOW THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO CHANGE THINGS?

Now some of you can say it's not on Mike. I do not agree. It's on ALL of them, but he is the coach and he'd damn well better start figuring out ways to change their mindset as a TEAM.

The schedule does not get any easier for the Wings either. This week and next are huge.

Frankly, it doesn't seem like they give a damn.

When the same problems keep occuring every night, it becomes apparent that a team isn't good enough or motivated enough to overcome those problems.

What suggestions would you have to turn things around? Keeping in mind the current roster and salary cap implications?

On paper this is one of the top teams in the league, even with 3 or 4 guys injured right now, so it's a mental thing. What I want to see is the leaders on this team actually look like leaders, but this appears to be an immature team right now that always does the same s*** every game.

Thus, I can't think of a deadline move that can fix this team, especially with the cap situation The best thing I can think of is to play Lilja with Janik or Meech, to get rid of Ericsson and Lebda for the time being. I'd also split the euro twins to get more scoring from the top two lines. Finally, I'd make Ozzie the starter again since Howard appears gassed.

However, this Olympic break coming up couldn't come at a worse time, because the team needs to go on a run, instead they'll be going to the Olympics. Thus any move they make won't have much time to gel.

Bottom line is that they have the talent, but are underachieving. They remind me of those Rangers teams in the late 90's and early 00's, who had all that talent, but had trouble making the playoffs. Bunch of underachievers.
