The rangers should have never dealt him. He had magic with Jagr, then both he and Jagr were played with the wrong guys (plus it got more expensive for both teams.) Terrible deal.

As said before, Nylander's contract didn't come off the books. It's a loan deal. Capitals still pay him.

"The situation with Jokerit will be the same as it was with the Griffins. The Capitals still retain Nylander’s rights and will pay his salary, but it won’t count against Washington’s cap."

It's probably not a good idea for Leino anyways. The Wings must want him to stay here to make sure he works on his strength and conditioning and whatever else he needs.
