Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 I know there are alot of Wings fans in Phoenix, and I keep hearing that the yotes are looking to move Mueller. He was suppost to be a huge prospect, and now he is on rough times... I want to hear from someone in the desert about what his problem is, if he can salvage his career, and most importantly if he would be a good addition via trade if the Wings were to focus in on him. Anyone from Detroit who wants to chime in on whether or not he would be a good target can of course do so, but this is not a rumor or a wish, just a fact finding thread. My personal take is the kid looks like a kid. I haven't seen enough of him to confirm or deny his value as anything beyond what I have read of him.

Guest EZBAKETHAGANGSTA Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Seems like a kid who is just struggling with consistancy and finding a role on the Yotes roster. As a 19 year old he had a 54 point season, and could only improve if placed under the leadership and mentorship of the Red Wings. It is entirely belivable to think this guy could be a 30 goal 80 point guy in a few years, and has decent size. I would trade a mid level prospect and a 2nd for him right now. I think his 80pt potential is slimmer than the Coyotes would like, but he certainly still has all the tools to be an impact player. He just has to put it all together. Green Wing 26 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 From Dreher's Q&A thing on TSN: Ron, Dorchester, ON: Darren, what sort of return could the Coyotes be seeking for Peter Mueller? He was on your Top 10 list of players who could be dealt, no? Darren Dreger: Ron, yes, Peter Mueller is on the Top 10 list and before I placed him on the list, I checked with a Coyotes source to determine the rate of return. Phoenix expects a good young roster player or prospect in exchange for Mueller, who is considered to have some issues, but a lot of potential as well. Wonder what 'some issues' means exactly? I heard he had suffered a concussion at one point and played differently afterwards. Wouldn't go into the hard areas that he did in his first season etc. All hearsay though, cos I haven't seen much of him.

I'm not sure his contract, but would this help our cap hit when people return?

I'm not sure his contract, but would this help our cap hit when people return? His cap hit is fairly high. I don't think Leino and Meech or Lebda would balance out with Lija and him coming in... It would most likely require moving Williams as well. It isn't something that is likely. It may be possible to acquire him and send him down to GR. I don't think it is going to happen, but I always like to know.
e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 He's a RFA at the end of the season. His cap hit is $1.7 Million.
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 If we could get him for only Leino or Lebda and a pick or something I'd say yes, but we'd need to trade Williams probably and I just don't think it's worth it.
