Holmstrom Game Time Decision

Good news if he's ok - I really wish Kronwall would just sit out the Olympics regardless, he could use the rest on his knee...

Also

Lebda-Ericsson scares me... Lebda is such a mess and Ericsson can't play his game when he's with d partners like him or Meech, because he's on his heals too much - playing without confidence=poor play... that's been his biggest problem all year, he's an offensive defenseman and needs to be able to make rash decisions, knowing he has a D partner that will bail him out if he messes up... that's what learning and growing as a rookie is about - but he's been too pensive and...

poor confidence=poor play

argh.. no Kronwall would be a big loss for Team Sweden.. we need everyone we can get who has any kind of physical edge.

Sorry, but I root for Wings first, national team second (I know some may find that backwards) and if it were a team US guy, I'd still rather him sit and rest if it would help the Wings long term...

If they go with Bert on the first line agian I will lose it... That line did nothing last game, and we only started playing good when they moved Franzen to Hand and Pavs line and Bert to Flips line

I think Babs was REALLY onto something and basically stumbled into the line of Filppula-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi a few games ago and I would love to see him go back to it...

Filppula-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi

Cleary-Zetterberg-Franzen

Draper-Helm-Maltby

Holmstrom-Miller-Williams

SHOULD be the lines tonight... probably won't, but I think it splits up your firepower and compliments everyone's strengths(and covers their weaknesses) the most...

Just replace him with Anders Eriksson.

The man has won a championship before, thus he's a proven winner. Team Sweden needs guys like that.

Dear Mr.Kronwall

Pain is just weakness leaving the body.... I guess I don't have to say anything more than that, you know what to do.

Yeah, really.

Kronwall should toughen up and play with the pain, like those pro-wrestlers always do. They wrestle with concussions and stuff.

You ain't suppose to be 100% all the time in hockey, you will have your pain but you gotta sacrifice yourself in desperate times like these, chicken swedes :(

What if Kronner sits out the Olympics only to be injured in the first NHL game after the break? What if he gets injured getting out of his car during the break?

We don't know what will help the Wings long-term and players run the risk of being injured anytime they take the ice. It's not like the injury risk is somehow higher during the Olympics. Kronner, just like Franzen, has missed a good chunk of games and looked rusty after coming back from injury. He needs games, he can't rest himself into shape.

If he's cleared by doctors and feels good he should and WILL play. If he can't play, it will be a big loss for Sweden which is all I said to begin with.

Eriksson is to my knowledge the only swedish NHL player to be called to the National Team only to be sent home because he couldn't take a spot on the team over guys from the SEL.

What a loser.

It's not that he isn't conditioned that's the issue, it's that he has a structurally weak knee... that DOES need rest... have you ever damaged an ACL/MCL? staying off it is the only way it TRULY heals...

and yes, it would be a blow to Sweden... I just don't want to see hit tweak it in the Olympics, whereas an off ice injury is MUCH less likely... I'm being selfish :)

If you truly believe this is only a matter of Kronwall not "playing through the pain," then you're an idiot. There's a hell of a lot more to injury "than any of us know and to question his toughness in the situation when its never been in question before makes you look foolish.

agreed... it has nothing to do with "toughness" when you're dealing with a freaking MCL/ACL injury...

Players play through injury in the playoffs why not not when they obviously are in "playoff mode" and must get points or they hit the golf tracks in april...

Because a re-injury of this magnitude could mean missing atleast half of next season as well.

This isn't about player toughness. Stop making it out to be.

Even if they got a torn ACL, which is one of the more severe injuries one could get, in february, they would be back latest mid June anyways...

Tell that to Tom Brady.

Rehab can take well over 9 months, plus conditioning. You think he'd be ready 5 months from now....laughable.

That's the worst reason ever. Why risk injury at all? Just because he could be back in time for next season doesn't mean you throw him out there knowing his has a greater chance of suffering a major injury. Player safety is a major concern. Is this a joke?

This coming from someone who wants a player to risk suffering a possible major MCL/ACL injury because it is "playoff mode" and he would be back before next season if he did suffer a major injury.
