redeyedwings 2 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 From my buddy's blog -- thought this was a nice read this morning. Just posting it for the group. 1-0-0. That’s the only record that really matters. 34-23-12? Ugly, by Motown standards, but utterly meaningless. 0-1-0? That would be the record of the only other team we’re watching now. http://dirtygames.ca/2010/03/1-0-0/ Personally, I think we can even take the seventh spot, but like he says, just get in. That's all.
KrazyGangsta 79 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 7th spot is a possibility too and I won't be surprised if we do grab it. This this has switched gears all of a sudden after the Olympic breaks if they can shift one more gear up watch out for the Wings.
h2obury 6 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 I agree the team has been very good since the Olympics now that everyone is healthy (sorry Maltby) if they gets on a roll in the playoffs they are going to be a tough team to stop. (btw did anyone notice that Maltby seemed to be very uncomfortable during the intermissions on FSN last night?)
redeyedwings 2 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 As of right now, the Preds are one point up with both teams having played 69 games. So yeah, I think seventh is a legitimate goal. That said, I really want the Wings to play San Jose in the first round, and they're currently two points up on the Blackhawks ... so 8th spot is fine for me right now. I'd love to see a Wings/Sharks first-round matchup.
DEVILSWATERBOY 10 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 a vetran team that is playoff hardened, there is no team in the playoffs that wants to see the Wings if they start rolling :!: :!:
Behind Enemy Lines in CO 11 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 Personally I would love to see Colorado fall from the 6th spot. Wings are only 4 points back although Avs have a game in hand. Wings could possibly catch them. Would be great to see all the bandwagon Avs monkeys panic if they fell to the 8th spot and maybe out of the playoffs all together. That would be an epic fail! (btw did anyone notice that Maltby seemed to be very uncomfortable during the intermissions on FSN last night?) I dont think Maltby was uncomfortable, i just think that he is in that transition state where hes trying to go from "player interview" to "Sports comentator". You could tell he was nervous a bit, and still answered some of the quwstions as if he was a player between periods with alot of "ums" and "uh" but i dont think he did terrible. Something tells me they are trying to get him ready for when he retires. The orginization is awesome in taking care of guys that have played for them, and something tells me this was an audition/practice for possibly a full time spot next year or the year after. mmamolo 287 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 As good as Chicago and San Jose have been all season, for those of you who want to see Colorado's fall from grace, I persaonlly think we match up well with either of the top two seed and would be hesitant to have a first round match up with the Canucks. With the way everyone is playing right now I would much rather lay in wait and hope for a later round match up witht he Canucks. To me, Vancouver has to be the favourite out of the West at the moment.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 I'll take anything other than 9th. I have a feeling that any of the top three teams would be a tough matchup, especially since we'd have to face them consecutively if we're to advance. There won't be any cakewalks like last year against Columbus or two years ago against Colorado.

Your right I don't think he did a bad job he must have been just nervous.
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 I would prefer to play Chicago or San Jose than Vancouver in round 1... But I'll be happy with any playoff spot and think the Wings could beat any of them when on their game.
shaeb30 10 Report post Posted March 16, 2010 were only 5 points back of the 5th place Kings, with 13 games to go...
pjgj13 30 Report post Posted March 17, 2010 I think they can grab the 6th spot playing the way they have since the break! They are only 4 (or 5) points out!
