NHL Draft Lottery

Not that I'm particularly unhappy with the Wings prospect pool or anything like that but I kind of wish Kenny would trade a prospect to a crappy team that has a great chance of landing a lottery pick.

5. NYI

4. CBJ

3. FLA

2. BOS

1. EDM

Burke is still an idiot.

Having such a top prospect entering your system, such as Ovy, Crosby, Tavares, Hall, Seguin...etc etc. Must be so exciting.

It was great watching Dats, and Z in their rookie years.

That's huge for the Bruins. Already a playoff team, and probably could've got seeded higher if it weren't for the injuries. Now they get either Hall/Seguin. With an already good defense, and the emergence of Rask....damn.

Note that Rask was a Leafs prospect that they traded for Raycroft. So if the Leafs were a well managed organization they'd still have Rask as well.

Basically, Boston's future has come courtesy of the Leafs.

Wish I knew of this legendary sport in those years :(

Wow didn't realise that. Poor leafs fans haha.

If all he traded away was this years 1st, people would be debating if the Kessel trade was worth it...the fact that its also this years 2nd and next years 1st makes it absolutely hilarious. This trade has the potential to rival the Yashin for Chara and a 1st (Spezza) trade.

Burke is such a genius :)

and savard should be back if they make it to the 2nd round...IF. and he'll be healthy to start next season. seguin's going to the B's, and he'll be a great right handed shot to replace kessel on savards line. cause you guys know the oilers are taking hall.

Andrew "*******" Raycroft for a guy who has all the tools to be the next best goalie in the whole world. lol

I've been reading that the Oilers might actually take Seguin, despite lots of talk that Hall would be #1.

I think Hall was moved to #2 in the final scouting report. Seguin's a center so that moved him to the top of the list.

Personally my money is on Seguin.

the lottery is an f'in joke in the NBA and is bigger joke in the NHL... if they want to deter teams from "purposely tanking it" to land the number 1 pick, then they should make it a good/bad thing in a way that only owner's understand - for every pick from 1-10, mandate an additional set cap value on the team that the MUST be above the cap floor for like 3 years following the pick... hit them in the pocketbooks... the REAL teams will still try to win this way...

I think every non-playoff team should have a crack at 1st overall. I understand that they want to make weaker clubs better but rewarding a team for a tank effort only hurts the product.

I heard today the Bruins are trying to get the Oilers #1 pick and draft 1-2.

Rumored offer.

To Oilers: 2011 Leafs 1st round, 2011 Leafs 2nd round, 2010 Bruins (not the Leafs) 1st round and maybe a roster player.

To Bruins: Oilers 2010 1st round pick
