GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 The Sens fans are showing respect to their team and thanking them for the good season. Don't be an asshat. Asshat? I hope I never lower my expectations so much as a Wings fan that I'll be happy when we lose in the first round and blow a 3-0 lead in the deciding game. And the Wings have won championships too. These fans are forgiving a team that hasn't accomplished anything. That's pretty sad, but I guess Ottawa fans are different than other Canadian fans. 1 Zeowingsfan reacted to this
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 So the Pens deserved to win by not coming out to play from the beginning and the Hawks deserved to win by making dumb defensive plays and having a goalie that couldn't stop a beachball during the game without flinching? Interesting observation on your part. You are saying that Ottawa deserved to win by taking the lead and then sitting on it. You are saying the Preds deserved to win when they took a 4-3 lead, had a power play, and then gave the puck away in the attacking zone and blew it defensively? The better teams won today, thats for sure.

Nightfall 871 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 All four teams deserved to lose, so I'm unhappy that the ones I hate won. Well, there has to be a winner. In the case of two teams who play like crap, the team that is less crappy will win. The Pens and Hawks were definitely less crappy, especially when it mattered most. We've heard that kind of crap too often around here. Fans have a right to be upset. Respect is a vague word. It's not like their team had some horrible accident befall it. They flat out choked the game and went out in the first round. Nothing to clap for imo. Their team hasn't earned their respect with the 0 Stanley Cups and numerous playoff letdowns. Applauding your team after the season is over? Respectful. You are the prime definition of a fairweather fan. How many bad seasons does Detroit have to have before you will go root for a different team? According to your definition, it will take just 2 losing seasons. This forum really needs an enema. I'm never switching to another team and you have no basis to say otherwise. You don't know what a fairweather fan is apparently. I'm just not a blind homer who's going to nod his head like an idiot to everything that his favorite team does. There's nothing wrong with booing. Fans have a right to do that. We don't owe our favorite teams anything. These guys aren't starving to death exactly. I'm never switching to another team and you have no basis to say otherwise. You don't know what a fairweather fan is apparently. Well then its obviously a lack of respect problem. Blowing a 3 goal lead or a 30 goal lead, my ass would be up applauding my team if they lost and it was the last game of the season. No doubt about it. IMHO, you have to show respect for the team that you support. The Edmonton fans did it for their team even though they were dead last in the regular season and they got worked in the last game of the season. Its the right thing to do. To criticize others for doing it is classless. If you choose to sit your ass in the seat and not applaud, then do so. Don't criticize others for being respectful. You are right though, I was wrong to call out that you were a fairweather fan when I didn't know you. This forum is already littered with them and I didn't have cause. Accept my apology on that. FunkedUp 29 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 The East is such a joke of a conference. St. Louis, Anaheim, Dallas, Calgary, and Minnesota would all be in the playoffs if they played in the east.
crosbymalkin>wings 19 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 (edited) The East is a joke? Who owns the cup? Crosby beat you losers last year in your own building when it counted. Check that: The Pens won even w/o Crosby in the final stanza in your building. A little respect would be nice. All he's doing is leading the NHL in playoff scoring by 5 points. I think you need to worry about Phoenix first before worrying about the kid who currently owns the cup and scored the OT game winner for the Olympic Gold Medal. Cheers. To be fair ESPN wouldn't even know who Dupuis is Edited April 25, 2010 by crosbymalkin>wings
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted April 25, 2010 The East is such a joke of a conference. St. Louis, Anaheim, Dallas, Calgary, and Minnesota would all be in the playoffs if they played in the east. The east will be a two team race. The Caps and the Pens. Both those teams are the only ones that have the skill and intensity to keep up with the top teams in the Western Conference. I think the Pens are the better team come playoff time.
