Lapierre at it Again

I don't normally watch a lot of Montreal games, but after theym playing Washington in the first round and watching their game tonight, I've seen more than I've seen all year. Lapierre is a crazy diver/faker...hadn't really seen from him before. He took 2 diving penalties the other day against Washington (2 of the 3 calls all year where it was the only penalty on the play)....unbelievable, 3 all year and 2 of those took place in the same game by the same guy.

Anyway, did anyone watch the game tonight? He pulled a Carcillo/Ovechkin. He took a slash across the waist and proceeded to grab his neck in pain....got away with it though and got the call. Can't beat Carcillo though, who proceeded to go crazy when no call was made on his fake out.

That is why i think diving should be a suspension or a fine. We dont need hockey turning into basketball. I cant stand all the acting in sports. Its a fast game and refs have a hard enough time catching everything without having a bunch of clowns diving all over the place.

Guys have gotten fined for diving...at least they started doing that a couple years ago...not sure if they still do. They used to do it and make it public, I remember a few....Avery being one of the them. The idea was to shame the guy.

They obviously are not giving out fines or suspensions because the carccillo one was one of the worst dives i have ever seen and he got away with it completely.

Yes, I thought they used to fine them too. I agree fine the guy good and he'll think twice about it.

especially since its usually the low paid goons that dont have enough class to play the game right.
