asham has already challenge eager a few times in this series

Discussions on the definition of "toughness" notwithstanding, this is what it comes down to for me. Yes, Eager has fought some good fights, but this series, he's turned away every time. I really believe that the Wings could use a solid enforcer, but I'd want one that will actually enforce. Playoffs, SCF, whatever; if your team is getting knocked around and falling toward giving up a tied series after being up two games, it's time. Maybe it's frowned upon or whatever in the playoffs, I don't know, I'm no expert. I don't care. If the Wings were in the Hawks' shoes right now, I'd want to see someone knock the hell out of Hartnell for all the shennanigens. Eager has shown, to me, an unwillingness to do that AND unwillingness to stand up to direct challenges in this series, when it perhaps counts the most.

Im not sure if you can read peoples minds or what, because im pretty curious on how you seem to know what Holland wants and does not want. If he does want anything it is a gritty bottom 6 player, as he has already stated. Please enlighten me, how is Eager not a gritty bottom 6 guy?

because he doesn't even belong in the NHL

he had a promising junior career, the hawks are front loaded, they had to have some useless grinders on the 4th line

Well Detroit has Draper, Miller and Meech playing forward sometimes who are all much more useless then Eager.

After talkinga bout how much tougher Datsyuk is then Eager you kind of lose your credibility in this thread.

And the reason hwe won't fight is hes in the stanley cup finals and you dont want momentum to swing. Macarty wouldn't fight Laraque 2 years ago in teh finals when he got challenged.

Macarty is a ***** too?

Obviously you think Datsyuk is tough but Holland doesn't think quite tough enough. He wants a player who is hard to play against, if guys like Datsyuk were tough players and tough to play against just because they can take alot then Detroit wouldn't need to sign someone like that.

Calm down, I never called anyone a "*****"; I just said I'd like to see it. And if you're down by three goals, I'd think you *would* want momentum to swing... Again, if that's the way coaches want to play it, who am I to say no? But in my opinion, let 'em fight. It's part of the game.

As one of the bigger fight advocates on this board I gotta say I don't mind if guys dont fight in the finals. After the pens giving talbot so much credit for that fight with Carcillo as turning their series around I'm sure noone wants to be the guy who swings the momentum negatively.
