plopster 136 Report post Posted June 10, 2010 So this may be a little off topic and/or weird. But anyway, I am deploying to the desert next week for a year to work for the military. IF I make it back all in one piece I would love to be able to have a chance to meet Darren McCarty and have him show me some stuff on the ice and to just meet one of the best players IMO of all time from the Red Wings. I doubt he does stuff like that, but does anyone know if he has fan meets or hockey skill classes for people getting into the game? I just would like to meet that guy one time before I die to let him know how much I appreciate what a great player and teammate he is and for representing the winged wheel with so much passion and grit. Lidstrom for life 20 Report post Posted June 10, 2010 I don't know anything about classes but my sister was at a bar in Royal Oak last weekend and saw him there so I would suggest you just keep going to bars in the metro Detroit area and you will probably eventually see him. Good luck and stay safe in the desert.
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted June 10, 2010 Well you mean WHEN you get back. I'm sure you'll be able to meet him at fan signings or NHL sponsored events. 2 Hockeymom1960 and TheDetroitRedWings reacted to this

So I take it Wings players have fan events in Detroit regularly? If so that would be cool, cuz I would have a month off if I get back and have plenty of cash on hand to make a trip to the motor city for a few days. Anybody know a decent place to stay in downtown Detroit btw?

While it may be cheaper, but a few bucks more will get yah safety
