Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Good signing for Philly. Leighton was their MVP at times during the playoffs. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 So does this mean the Flyers won't be looking for a bigger name goalie and will continue with Leighton/Boucher? Not that that's bad or anything, because they both looked very solid in the playoffs. However, Leighton's meltdowns in Chicago were a bit concerning.
Zohan Franzen 18 Report post Posted June 30, 2010 What about Emery ? Is he still there ? Sorry guys, but I´m not as close to the NHL as you ? So I don´t know what´s going on with every team !

He signed a 1 year deal with them last offseason, but due to his injuries and being a constant head-case, I"m certain they won't be bringing him back. Red Storm 38 Report post Posted July 1, 2010 Good signing for Philly. Leighton was their MVP at times during the playoffs. Really which series did you watch? The one I watched, he was the difference in giving up the choke push back goals to Chicago. Put it another way, had the Flyers had a goalie like Halak the series wouldn't have been close. hooon 1,089 Report post Posted July 1, 2010 Not surprised they re-signed him. He was definitely one of the best backup goalies in the finals.

Agree His stats were mostly bloated from a weak offensive team in Montreal. lol what game was it the habs only had 2 shots in a period? Both Goalies stunk in the finals, Leighton just stunk worse. It cost Philly the series.
F2B&G 15 Report post Posted July 1, 2010 This move is either solid for Philly (saving them the money they would've used to sign Nabby and putting it towards improving their depth), or will be a total bust for them. It all hinges on how a Leighton/Boucher tandem works out.
