Really cheap, too.

About halfway down

BOLL INKED

The Columbus Dispatch Blue Jackets reports that RW Jared Boll has agreed to terms on a two-year, $1.45M contract. It'll pay him $700,000 this season and $750,000 in 2011-12, which also allows him to avoid an arbitration hearing that was set for one week from today.

Boll's PIM totals have declined from 226 to 180 to 149 since breaking into the league, but he's still a good spot starter when you're looking for PIM match-ups throughout the season. Last year he racked up 19 PIM in three games vs. each of San Jose and Phoenix, although he has high penalty totals against a number of teams in his young NHL career.

At this rate, he'll have about 80 penalty minutes in the last year of his contract.

Anyway, like I said, really cheap. Don't know that he signs with just anyone for that. Looks like the ol' hometown discount, if that's at all possible in Columbus.

Great deal for CBJ. I wish the Wings would have tried to make a trade for him, but I'm not sure if CBJ would have moved him. I'm happy he's staying in Columbus since I'll be living up there for the next few years.

I am very very sorry for that being that Columbus in my mind is the seventh circle of Hell...

Well this just ruins my weak hearing this news!!!!

/sarcasm

He wouldn't have broken the bank.....:ranting:

How do you know if Boll even wanted to play for Detroit, or that they might have even offered him anything? Not worth crying over spilled milk about.

im sure boll would like to play for detroit, he played junior in plymouth. as homerish and biased as this might sound, who wouldn't want to play for detroit :)

people should also understand boll was an RFA he could not be signed out right. he would have to have been sent and offer sheet, trade for rights, etc. we simply could not just sign him.

It's not a bad city at all from my limited experience. The field I'm doing my graduate studies in (applied/ag. econ) has very few locations within major cities, and I spent my undergrad in the country (Clemson)- so I'm ready for the change.
