Meh, not bad.

Not a bad deal really - don't see why they wouldn't sign him to that.

Hang on... didn't Clarke MacArthur get $2.4m????

Something must be off here.

I was just about to make a comment about that. Numbers wise he had a better season then MacArthur but gets paid less?

That's what I was thinking.Boston got a good ruling, looking at all the money that's being thrown around to players that don't deserve half of what they're being paid (Boogaard,Shelley,Burish)

Well, Boston has 48 hours to yea or nay it, so we'll see what happens. What's their cap situation like? This seems like a really fair ruling to me.

They should change the name from arbitration to arbitrary.

Every admissable piece of evidence says Blake Wheeler should've been awarded more than MacArthur.

I bet the Bruins will take it. I wonder if Boston has made any progress with dealing Savard..

Chiarelli will likely put Ryder on waivers and keep Wheeler. He's likely trying to deal Savard but it's tricky. He has a no trade/movement clause and there are only a few select teams he will agree to be traded to. But then again, Boston does have a history of walking away with arbitration awards. Years ago it was Dmitri Khristich who ended up going to the Leafs and he sucked the rest of his career. Anson Carter may have been another one. Maybe they traded him. So long ago, I don't recall. Now I sound like Oliver North.
Jordan Tootoo will wreck shop.

We need someone like Parise that can penetrate the box.-blueadams

I'm thinking that the arbitrator in question got an earful from the league.
