CanadaBoy 151 Report post Posted August 12, 2010 In terms of what's best for the organization and it's owners, the Illitch's should buy the Pistons and have them and the Wings play in the same, new arena; as has been pointed out by other posters!
CanadaBoy 151 Report post Posted August 12, 2010 (edited) Ya know - has anything been agreed upon between the Ilitch family, and the city of Detroit concerning a lease of the Joe for the upcoming season? Unless I've been in the dark these past few weeks - I haven't heard anything except for the fact that the Ilitch's have placed an offer for the Pistons/Palace...Makes me think that there's a possibility that the Red Wings may play elsewhere in a few short months. Yezzzir. Wings are playing at the Joe next season. Will try to find you link. Edit: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/nhl/2010-08-09-1033668401_x.htm The Detroit Red Wings plan to play the 2010-2011 season at Joe Louis Arena as talks continue with the city about their home. Good stuff, I'm buying the "Homer pack" then, 3 games, 6 tickets, for $96! Coming from Canada, I didn't want to go all the way to Auburn Hills for Wings games. The Joe is the perfect spot for those of us in Ontario!
Octopus's Garden 147 Report post Posted August 12, 2010 If not for the boxes all the way around the end zones, it would look like Van Andel, the Griffins' home.
