wingsdiehard13 33 Report post Posted April 12, 2011 I am blown away my bad jokes don't make everyone laugh... I mean, seriously 15 is a crazy number. It's not as big of a deal as you're making it. They're not going to play, just here to get some experience in the atmosphere. Is it a lot of bodies? Yes, but what's it going to hurt?

ogreslayer 1,069 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 Thats true I forgot about him. Thats if he makes it through re entry waivers though If a team were to claim him now, it would have to be for next year. I don't believe a waiver claim would allow him to make that team's playoff roster at this point. Very little risk anyone would put in a claim now.
casey holmstrom 14 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 they do know, that even though Z is worth 15 players, they won't let them all play... Okay, this is too much fun!!! HA! High-five.
evilmrt 636 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 (edited) Fraser and a couple others will be working for the Wings throughout the playoffs. Edited with link (your link had an error in it) In addition, Griffins coach Curt Fraser, assistant coach Jim Paek, equipment manager Brad Thompson and medical therapist Brad Shaw will assist Detroit’s hockey operations staff during the postseason. Can we swap out McCrimmon for Fraser/Paek/my dog??? Edited April 13, 2011 by evilmrt
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 If a team were to claim him now, it would have to be for next year. I don't believe a waiver claim would allow him to make that team's playoff roster at this point. Very little risk anyone would put in a claim now. Zero risk. The waiver period is from opening night until the last day of each individual team's regular season. According to the CBA, the team is entitled to four recalls from their minor league affiliate. But there is also a provision that allows for the recall of any player on the reserve list once the minor league team's season has ended. The Wings played their last game on Sunday, April 10th. They recalled 15 players from the Griffins (who missed the playoffs) on Monday, April 11th. No possibility for a waiver claim on Meech. As I said, zero risk. And even if there were, he's a UFA next season; claiming him now would be pointless.
