St. Michael (the Red Wing) 422 Report post Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) Sounds like teams are interested in Todd for a head coaching spot as in Winnipeg, Columbus and maybe Dallas. Also hearing we (Detroit) are interested in him as our new defensive coach. Thoughts? Edited June 8, 2011 by St. Michael (the Red Wing)

Also hearing we (Detroit) are interested in him as our new defensive coach. Thoughts? Well, if he has head coaching position prospects, chances are he won't be here, but I think he'd be a good fit and that would be very interesting...
evilzyme 769 Report post Posted June 8, 2011 Todd Richards road to success: Step 1: Gain the lead Step 2: Play any style of the trap Step 3: Sit back and relax boys, it's going to be a long boring game. Just kidding Jacques Lemaire brought the trap before Richards, he just continued to implement the style.
St. Michael (the Red Wing) 422 Report post Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) I mean something about having Richards as our defensive coach I like. He obviously was a defensive minded coach and yes Wild games for the most part were boringish. However, I'm not opposed to him coming here especially if he's on the defensive side of things helping out the defense. He could help out our defensive system big time imo... evilzyme 769 Report post Posted June 8, 2011 I think he could help too though, it's up to how much we would be willing to change systems and how open minded we were. Most of the systems that Richards was using were already in place when he took the Wild's head coaching position. In all honesty though, I don't believe he'll come to take an assistant role after having a head coaching position.

I think the only reason he won't, is I honestly believe that he's going to land one of the head coaching gigs available right now, maybe Ottawa even... if he doesn't get any offers to be a head coach, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he took an asst position and why not here! With that said, I honestly don't believe he will end up here either, but I'd be all for it, if it were to happen!
Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted June 8, 2011 If he's good and has a good system, I don't care if we win 82 games in a row 2-1 or 1-0. A win is a win. 3 Finnish Wing, Detroit \# 1 Fan and Drake_Marcus reacted to this
