Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted September 9, 2011 One year, $700,000. Kyle Wellwood is as soft as they come. Maybe an extra forward?
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted September 9, 2011 Interesting. I would have thought San Jose would have given him another year seeing how surprisingly well he played for them.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted September 11, 2011 I have not. Pretty sure it's real. Must have been some Leafs fan hiding in the bushes to take that picture. I remember it getting lots of heat from Leafs fans as well as some good "fat" jokes on hockey forums, including this one.
Z Winged Dangler 2,082 Report post Posted September 12, 2011 not a bad signing if you think about it... wellwood is a pretty good playmaker. if the Jets put him on a line with Eric Fehr then Fehr could benefit from Wellwoods passing. Finish that line off with Evander Kane and you have a pretty solid line with Playaker ~ Sniper ~ Power Forward. Anyone who watched Eric Fehr with the Wheat Kings knows he has a kick ass one-timer and a nose for the net and he'll get way more ice time with the Jets than the Caps. kylee 727 Report post Posted September 12, 2011 Had to post this now "classic" picture. I mean he was on crutches at the time....that combined with a little more taco bell than usual minus the NHL workout regimen I can easily see a little belly developing in that scenario. Not really. A leg injury still allows for such exercise as swimming (using the upper body only, of course), and diet is very easily controllable. Wellwood apparently just decided he wanted eat doughnuts.
