I so totally understand this decision. I only wish that someone going to the service could leave a red carnation for me. There's a story behind it, and I wish it could happen.
You mentioned the carnation story in one of the other threads and it just shows how awesome a person McCrimmon was.
I'm glad the Wings are going to the funeral, definitely the right thing to do.

Good morning! We are still waiting on the final revised schedule for Saturday's events. We can confirm on-ice practice starts at 7:05 am. Your ticket for Saturday will also be accepted for admission to either Wednesday, 9/21/11 or Thursday, 9/22/2011 morning skates. This schedule change is due to the team's attendance of Brad McCrimmon's funeral Saturday.

Totally off topic, but do you know how many years it's been since I've heard someone say "cool beans!"Cool beans! That saves me $20. Nice of them to do that.
Flashback.
My money on the board pledge:
$1 for each goal scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.
An additional $5 for each hat trick scored by a player after whom I have named a hamster.
An additional $10 if any of the above goals is the GWG goal that gives us the series win.
An additional $50 if it is the GWG that wins us the Cup.
$5 for a SO by Jimmy.
Hamsters' names (current players in RED): Henrik Pavel Tomas Nicklas Dominik
Niklas Matthieu Daniel Robert
Johan Andreas Valtteri Jonathan
Andrew Patrick Ian Todd
And introducing: Jordin Damien Gustav James
TOTAL SO FAR: $27

There will be a time for giving of condolence cards Saturday morning. I plan to do so. They will be given to the family before the service.

Thanks Offsides

Cards for Brad McCrimmon's family may be dropped off at Centre ICE Arena today (Wednesday) from 2:30 - 7:00 pm or on Saturday morning from 7:00 -9:00 a.m. We will be sure the cards are sent with DRW to the funeral. No stuffed animals or flowers, please, just cards. If you are not from the Traverse City area, you may send a sympathy card through the funeral home's website, www.heeney-sundquist
