Datsyuk's Wrist

Rate this topic

Ive looked as much as I know how and haven't found any info regarding Pav's wrist beyond his name having wrist in parenthesis after his last name in FHL updates.

Curious if he is beyond the injury or if he is still dealing with it.

I havent been able to watch a pre season game yet due to work so Im wondering if he seems hampered by it, if his shot is lacking or if there is a news article to update his condition.

Im just hoping to start the season with our guys Rockin and Rollin.

There's been no mention of his wrist as far as I know. He's played OK. Nothing spectacular but like a star player getting slowly warmed up for proper games. Two points in two games. Some really great passes in the offensive zone especially to Kronwall.

I'm very concerned about it - over the summer at his camp, in an interview, he stated it was still bothering him, and he really was not doing anything about it.

I read about that too, said he was going to Russia to spend time with his kid and was just going to stick his arm in the sand?? I hope he is sand bagging and making peopel think he has an injury when he is A OK but there is nothing concrete Ive read that says hes ok.

I'll get to watch the first PS game of the year tomorrow and hopefully he is moving the puck the way I expect him to. I just pray we dont have the issues with injuries weve had in the last few years AGAIN. Starting the season with guys hurt is getting REALLY f***IN OLD.

Hope someone can chime in with any concrete news regarding the magician. Hope its that he is just fine and ready to go for a 100+ season.

I really hope he's OK. Dats and Z are the first two top Wings players that I have been old enough to see break into the league and play their entire careers (3 if you wanna count Kronwall as a top player). For the rest of my life I'll remember how Dats moved the puck like he had it on a string and I fully expect, in about half a century, to become that old guy who rambles on about how the kids these days have nothing on ol' #13 haha. Also, I just drafted for my yahoo fantasy league- pick 1: Datsyuk. From both a real life and fantasy perspective, it would SUCK if his wrist isn't 100%. So much so that I don't even want to think about it until I'm given evidence otherwise.

I had a similar wrist break (or so I suspect based on what is made available to the public) and it was about six months before the scar tissue was worn away enough to where I had full flexibility again. Even now (a year past the break) I can still feel stiffness when I fully extend the wrist, but it isn't enough to limit my use of it. I imagine with the best medical resources at his disposal, his wrist should be at or near 100% by now.

I meant to ask him when I saw him at camp but didn't get a chance to. However, he was taking faceoffs during the scrimmage games and the Red and White game, so I'm thinking it can't be bothering him too much.
