legaleaglewingsfan 75 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Reviewing the highlights it sounds like that arena is rocking. Maybe its acoustics, but I know as a hockey fan I am glad to see a team playing in front of a packed house and back in a city where the fans appear about as rabid as they come. NvrFrgtRussian5 85 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 It was a great game. The Jets let down for a stretch in the second but Pavs held 'em in. That lone goal was not has fault at all, he had a stellar game. That crowd is unbelievable.
Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Congrats to the Jets for getting their first Win. Didn't really want to see Atlanta have to go but it's nice to have Winnipeg back in the NHL.

Fully agree. I dont think it will happen. Its always good to see some die hard fans get a arena jumping.

8 Legged RedWing 367 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Yea the highlights are fun to watch of the Jets. Their crowd is nuts. I'm also interested to see how devoted they are even after the team struggles for a couple years.
Nhurdi 42 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 I'm also interested to see how devoted they are even after the team struggles for a couple years. I have friends that say that exact same thing to me. How many Detroit fans will fall off the wagon once we have a few lean years? Allot of us have had it good for 20 years. I don't remember the 80's so I hope i'm as passionate about the wings if and when we have a downturn. I wonder if the Jets players are adjusting to having a crowd that is different from what they are used too.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Good for them, if the Jets were more of a decent team it would feel like a perpetual playoff atmosphere with the fan craze. I hope they can get some superstars and talent over there. I don't think it'll be mismanaged the way it was in Atlanta.
Steve Sample 31 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Living just a couple of hours outside of Winnipeg I get a lot of news about the Jets! The team has been welcomed to Winnipeg with open arms and the players will be treated like kings. However, most of their fans know their hockey and will be on top of them if they start to slack off. They might not be used to this coming from Atlanta where nobody cared. I for one never thought that the NHL would bring a team back to Manitoba. The arena is almost sold out for 5 years and with strong ownership I believe that the team is here to stay! The only problem I see is trying to draw big name players to Winnipeg. But time will tell! Guest 13GoWings40 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Seeing how these fans react to this team makes you really realize how lucky we are to live in a sports city like Detroit. Congrats on your first win WPG, here's to many more (though not against us of course)
