Abby has to do better than that against a non-fighting euro.

Gets jumped, and they go down pretty much immediately, I dont know how its fair to expect much out of him at all in that situation especially against a guy who is 6'4

He's just not cut out to be a regular scrapper. I think he needs to stick to the offensive part of his game. I don't mind him fighting here and there, but he needs to develop his skills with the puck.

If by regular scrapper you mean 10+ times a season than I agree but the fighting skill is definitely there to be a Dallas Drake type guy. 5 or 6 fights a year while being consistently physical and chipping in some offense is what he should be doing.

He has clearly gotten a lot better at fighting the last couple years, he missed 4 years of fighting by going to the NCAA. Hes developing into a solid middle weight type

EDIT: Forgot to add, while he had a terrible showing. I was pleasantly surprised to see Kindl fight a big guy like Benn who is known as a solid fighter when he fights. Hes been alot more physical this year to and had a few big hits

I can agree with that on Abby. Yeah Kindl got smoked, but at least he stuck up for himself. Would've liked to see Benn go with Ericsson. Wonder when Commodore gets back in the lineup.

I don't think Kindl had much of a choice there. ;)

Benn basically jumped him.

It didnt look like Kindl had the intention of dropping the gloves but he was skating over to give Benn a little shot for sure

We're not last in fighting majors? :carrot:

I think the wings might even break 20 fights this year lol

With Commie and Smith probably getting some time, Abdelkader showing more willingness and Ericcson being encouraged by Babcock.

Bert has also been told to play on the edge way more by Babcock.

Looks like Commodore will get a few more games in. I'm not looking for him to fight as much as clearing guys out of the crease and keeping him away from Howard. Although I'd like to see what he can still do in the fighting department. Bertuzzi better be playing physical and stirring things up when he gets back, because he's not good for anything else anymore.

Trying to ignore the fact that the Wings suck right now, I'm gonna bump this.

Outside of Detroit blowing tonight, it was a rather badass evening around the NHL. First:

Props to Thorburn for hanging in with him.

Next:

Again, props to Rosehill for standing in there, but McGrattan is the toughest SOB in the NHL right now.

Mcgratton is the toughest right now since Macintyre is down in Wiles Barre but with Boogard gone I really dont think anyone is even close to Big Mac.

Mcgratton is probably right behind him however.

I cant believe Rosehill stood in there that long, without even get his knees buckeled a bit

Bush league stuff by McGrattan celebrating after the fight. That was uncalled for.

I'm happy he got penalized for it. No need for that. That being said, he drilled Rosehill.

I'd like to see McGrattan and MacIntyre match up.

Orr and Rosehill haven't gotten much time in Toronto's lineup this year. Mike Brown seems to have beat them out.
