Are you secretly crossing your fingers that someone runs the starting goalie just so you can get in the game? Does anyone have any idea what a contract like that would pay? Is it league minimum divided by 82? Or is there a special pay bracket for pro tryout / amateur contracts like this? p.s. If you haven't read the article, you should. It's pretty funny. Exactly, since it's just a try out contract, it doesn't count... the Wings did this last year with that college goalie... It really doesn't matter. That is because the cap is calculated by the NHL on an ongoing basis (I neglected to say daily because they maybe only look when roster changes are made).
