Danglesyuk05 3 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 I don't start threads here ever and I don't post as regularly as I probably should but I have played organized hockey since I was just a little boy..With some damn good players as well. Logged many hours of puck...but after waiting a couple months to make sure this wasn't a snap decision...This might be my favorite goal ever... That is damn near impossible. Unbelievable. Pavs is my hero. Well one of em anyway..So many great wings to choose from over the years.
Jon_G 6 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 This goal was seriously amazing, I happened to be at the game. I don't know about greatest goal ever, but when you think about the fact that this was a Game 7 with the highest level of intensity...and then Datsyuk just decides to become unstoppable for a moment. I don't think there's another player alive that could have scored such a decisive goal in that situation.
P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 Indeed that was quite a backhander. Usually it's Zetterberg who scores on backhand but that Dastyuk goal was maybe the nicest I've seen.

Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 That is definitely the most challenging goal I have seen scored. I remember my jaw dropped when he scored that.
crotty99 302 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 Jaw dropping moment for sure. I remember he took a slapshot not long after this goal...i swear it was going to go in too, he was in beast mode last playoffs.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 As much as my jaw dropped when I saw that goal at the time, the final replay they show from behind the goalie shows just how sick that shot was. Anyone that plays hockey knows how impossible that shot is.

Every indication I can see from the replay tells me it should have hit the goalie, and yet it finds the perfect spot.
brett 1,029 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 (edited) datsyuk the sniper. hard to do on the forehand let alone backhand Edited November 30, 2011 by brett

A quarter inch higher or outside and it clanks off the post and goes out. Two inches down or inside and Niemi gets a shoulder on it. It was literally the most difficult shot I've ever seen that actually went in.

GSBrooks13 204 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 I actually remember watching a game this season on TV (I can't remember whether it was TSN or FSD) and one of the commentators mentioned that after that game all that the Sharks were talking about back in the locker room was how amazed they were at that goal. NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted November 30, 2011 Nothing is impossible in hockey. What about Crosby growing a 'stache that doesn't make him look like a pedo?
