benmast19 2 Report post Posted February 9, 2012 Just a thought, with Chris Stewart appearing to be on the trading block, do you guys think he is a guy Kenny Holland should aggressively pursue? He is a very physical player that grinds to the net and works to create his offense. Although he is on pace for only a 16 goal season, a change in scenery might help him. He would fit in great as a top 9 forward on the Wings and would add a dimension of toughness and grit to a lineup that has been in need of a little "sandpaper". He has an affordable cap hit of $2.875 million and is a RFA after this year. This is a no risk type of move and we could likely land him for a draft pick and/or a mid level prospect. He could be a difference maker in determining how deep the Wings' playoff journey is. Just an idea. Thoughts?

I would love to see him here, but don't expect him to stay here for long if he needs a change of scenery this fast.
MabusIncarnate 5,344 Report post Posted February 9, 2012 Gotta remember how young he is too, he has so much room to develop and become a Rick Nash style of player. I think his potential is tremendous and both Colorado and if this is the case St. Louis are giving up on him way too fast. I'd pull the trigger for sure. BamaWing 37 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 Would love to have Stewart. Hard nosed player but with lots of skill and potential.
Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted February 10, 2012 I doubt he ends up here. I also wonder if he would make the team any better. He is a two line, three line tweener. I think we have a couple of those already. The Wings need in the short term a true top six sniper.
Jeff6851 168 Report post Posted February 11, 2012 Better trade Stuart right after
EastonWings 2 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 This would never ever happen as long as he plays for the blues. 1. The blues are in. Race with Detroit for the central and they would never trade with each other.
