number9 3,297 Report post Posted October 12, 2012 At least we can look forward to seeing Mrazek play. Hopefully a lot of starting time will do him good. Just wish we had someone better than McCollum and Pearce to push him. http://www.thegoalieguild.com/2012/10/12/ahl-goalie-power-rankings-week-1/ 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

number9 3,297 Report post Posted October 26, 2012 Updated rankings. GR still last. http://www.thegoalieguild.com/reports/ahlrankings/
uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted October 26, 2012 Anyone surprised? Even when Howard was with GR we were still more than likely last.
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted October 26, 2012 I have no idea what we were like when Howard was with Grand Rapids, but at least we made the playoffs when Howard was here. McCollum has not panned out. Pearce is not a NHL caliber goalie. We need someone to rise up from the minors.
number9 3,297 Report post Posted November 5, 2012 In two starts Petr Mrazek has a .96 GAA and a .967 save%!!! Can't wait for this kid to be up in the big leagues with Jimmy. He's extremely fast/athletic. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
Hockeymom1960 5,107 Report post Posted November 8, 2012 YAY Petr is tearing it up in the AHL. No surpises here!
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted November 11, 2012 Its good to see him doing well in the AHL so far. 5-0 so far since he has joined. I hope he keeps it up, but the team as a whole is playing better in front of him. It wasn't just Mrzaek, but he was a part of it. 1 rick zombo reacted to this
rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted November 12, 2012 4-0 for Mrazek. McCollum got the win last night and is now 3-2-1.
Nightfall 871 Report post Posted November 12, 2012 Hrm....apparently the Griffins twitter had it wrong then. Glad to see McCollum get the win last night then.
number9 3,297 Report post Posted November 12, 2012 Arrival of Mrazek has moved GR from last (#30) to #28. He's currently 6th in GAA and 5th in save% amongst AHL goalies http://www.thegoalieguild.com/ahlrankings/ 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

Probably because they have more confidence in him than the other two.
Jaymister 71 Report post Posted December 15, 2012 Mrazek has struggled a bit lately, while McCollum has been solid lately. Last night the Griffs got shutout 3-0 by a Peoria team that is in 13th place in the conference. Mrazek let in 2 goals on 31 shots, decent game but his team didn't help him any. McCollum has had the best numbers of his career so far with a decent 2.47 GAA and .909 save percentage, which are still average numbers at best. Mrazek despite struggling a bit lately still has better numbers, with a 2.39 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
