Season Opener?

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

So I have the option to buy a ticket to tomorrow's season opener against Boston but I'm kind of on the fence. I plan on going to multiple games this year so that's not an issue. It would be slightly inconvenient to go, but if the atmosphere is really good it would be worth it. So my question is what is the atmosphere like on the first game of the year? For reference I've been to playoff games, weekend games, and weekday games and they all have different feels to them.

I've gone to the season opener for years now and usually there is a pretty good vibe in the air, definitely different the just a regular game I remember a few years ago against Anaheim when Datsyuk fought Perry, the place went nuts!

I would say go.

I live 10 hours away and would pay 200$ to go to a meaningless game against Florida in January.

Actually, I've paid over 750 to travel to detroit, stay there etc. for one night to see them play against the devils. Did it again to see them play Nashville in another meaningless game at the end of the season. Both games were about as high up at the Joe as possible

Food for thought.

I went last night and had an awesome time! It was a bit annoying having a Bruins fan right behind me that thought the people around him wanted to hear his colour commentary "come on Tuk", "lets go Lucic!", "Force them", "Get it out" "Good job boys" but after Goose scored he stopped :).

Regardless how you feel about the direction of the team, any true Wings fan should have a good time at the game. I loved it, and cant wait for my next one on Halloween where we hopefully take out the champs!

The fact that u considered not going is shameful, shammmmme shammmmmmmmmme

College, man lol

The only bad thing was getting out of Detroit. It's all tore up with road construction downtown.

It wasn't too bad for me, I park right by the Hard Rock so the freeway is fairly easy to get to.
