I will say this regarding the MSU-UM bit - my super senior year of college (due to zero overlap from a change in major from Physics to Music Ed) when the Blue Band came to the Michigan game in Ann Arbor, the Michigan fans were very gracious to us - as we marched out of the stadium several came up to us and said "You just beat the best, now go win the Rose Bowl for the Big Ten." After the game, by he bus, my Probert jersey got some nice comments, and I had a few great chats. The day before at our practice, several folks from the old listserv that David Vergolini ran out of MSU stopped by to meet me (the trumpet player in the Yzerman jersey). Fred Rubarth and Cris Cataldo, wherever you are, I raise my glass and drink a dram of The Macallan in remembrance of a good evening at that sports bar, and also to anyone else I met that day in 1994 who is out there in Wings fandom.

When the MSU fans came to Penn State, the ones I met tailgating after the game were cool as hell.

That said, this move by Tampa Bay is bush league. Hopefully the Wings fans still find a way in, and numerous octopi hit the ice during a first round Detroit upset in their arena, during a deciding Game 5.

The only thing inferior these days is your football and basketball programs. I was initially happy when you guys started sucking, naturally, but now it's getting ridiculous. Hopefully Harbaugh wipes that football team into shape again.
