GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted May 20, 2016 I remember how 15 years ago, countries like Sweden and Finland lacked solid goaltending to compete on the international stage against the top hockey countries. Nowadays, that's no longer the case. The junior tournament is the most competitive tournament as it seems like a different powerhouse wins it every year. toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted May 20, 2016 I can understand writing a nice article about how the Finns have been improving over the years, but the article as a whole is a complete joke. Barely even mentions Canada, who are clearly superior, even if you are considering total populations, which seems to be a big focus.
DatsyukianDekes 2,428 Report post Posted May 20, 2016 Finland is good, but they are still ranked behind Sweden, USA and Canada for me. The Olympics mean more to Canadians then anything, that's the true measure of best on best and Finland isn't up there with those other three yet.
Ekmanc 586 Report post Posted May 22, 2016 Finland are definitely good, fun youth movement at the moment too but they suffer from the same problem as Russia, not nearly enough quality d-men.
