Barrie 900 Report post Posted October 14, 2019 As mentioned, I live in the Toronto market, I'm not a fan of the blackout games against the Leafs. I use Reddit when we play the Leafs, so I can hear Mickey and Ken. You'd think with the number of people getting rid of cable, NHL would do away with the blackouts, to take advantage of those without cable. Anyway, 5 games into the season, I've seen every game, and not disappointed with my purchase. Neomaxizoomdweebie 3,083 Report post Posted October 14, 2019 I have never understood the reasoning behind blackouts. People will still go to see the games in person, even if they can watch it on tv. Its not hurting ticket sales to show the games. If people are paying to watch the games on tv, then the team and league are still making money off of the viewership. I understood the reasoning back when people could just watch the games for free on tv back in the day, but EVERYONE pays now, so blackouts should no longer be used. 1 Barrie reacted to this Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
