LeftWinger 5,191 Report post Posted January 15 (edited) IF, and I say IF Detroit stays in the playoffs by the TDL, it might not be a bad thing trading away the 2026 1st. Considering that they'd be drafting between 16 and 31 (see below for reason there's only 31 picks in the 1st this year) and it doesn't look like they'd be missing out on too much if they used the pick for a serious upgrade to the NHL roster. But, if the pick is kept, a few names to consider. Especially if Danielson, or MBN are dealt, or a LHD prospect. Nikita Klepov - RW (he has commited to MSU) Yegor (Egor) Shilov - C (commited to BU) I am not too keen on high scorers from the QMJHL, but could be a nice pick Malte Gustafsson - LHD - 6'4, 201 (for now) could be a nice replacement if Buium or Willander is dealt. a nice 2nd round pick would be Brooks Ragowski - C, he's a local kid (Brighton), 6'7 232lbs already! That's what I'm thinking. Older brother seems to be a late bloomer too. We should flip a guy in Berggen territory or a 3rd or something to Pittsburgh for him.
