I hate to say it, but I think I'll throw up if the Wings go into full-on lead protect mode. Too defensively tight, and they're playing not to lose...which I think Anaheim is hoping will happen. Puck possession, puck possession, keep it in their zone, have to keep the Ducks frustrated, on the defense and prone to discipline breakdowns to the very bloody end.
Sorry, this topic is only for us realists who know that the Sharks are the team of destiny. Im gonna have to ask you to take this Wings mumbojumbo elsewhere.
NO!!! You can't do this to us!
Do you know how many cups we've won? ZERO, that's how many.
Do you know many times we choke? Plenty, that's how many. We are the Chokes, not the Wings, and that is our only destiny. The Wings have always found a way, and it's just in the stars. Their momentum is there, and there's not much the Sharks can do about it except choke on it, as the team from motor city rams headlong down its ever-choking, cheeky upstart gullet.
I'm no rube, I know what you're trying to do here!
No way. The Sharks are going to be so scared that they'll pull Nemo two minutes into the first period, and they won't put him back in net until Howard has his quadruple hat trick, with 12 unassisted empty netters. Joe Thornton will pull the first ever own-goal hat trick, making it 15-0 Wings.
Posted by mistake in the GDT, when I meant to post it here.
Well, wild and wonderful Wings fans, fellow hockey nutjobs, it's come to this, has it?
Both teams have lost three straight, and both are now in the exact same boat, facing elimination, trying to figure out a way to win a single hockey game - only tonight it's a one game, winner-take-all series of a game, one to be remembered for years to come. Epic! Historic!
Because I am a Wings fan, second only to my beloved Chokes, the winner of tonight's game will be the team that I am squarely behind to go the distance and win the Stanley Cup. I will NOT like it if the Sharks lose tonight, and will definitely have my share of wounds to lick. But for me, at least there is a consolation prize.
I am far too numb to be nervous now, but excitement? At the prospect of watching such an epic game tonight - oh s*** am I excited. Oh s***, oh s***, oh s***.
A heartfelt thank you, once again, to Matt and to all of you Hardcore Wings Fans, whom I love dearly, for filling the atmosphere with all that you are, and all that you do.
