Doesn't it seem like all GMs are waiting until after these CBA negotiations to make any more signings?

More like Ferk, but roll the r.

Good pick, for 49th. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

In Topic: Red Wings Prepared to Offer Hudler Contract

Semin disappointed making 6.7 million this past season, i'm not sure how motivated he would be taking a contract for 4-5 mil per.

With that said, and i've made it pretty well known how I feel about Semin, if it came down to Hudler at 4 mil or Semin at 5 mil theoretically i'd probably take the risk on Semin IF it was a short contract. That way if he decides to play lazy we aren't tied up for long.

And at least Pavel would have someone to talk to.  Semin would be a much better player on Pav's wing, rather than Hudler.

Agreed. I'd like to see Quincey at his 5% raise which is close to $3.3M. Then I'd prefer to see Helm at $1.5 and Abdelkader at $1.2. That would be $6 total. but I could see each being slightly higher.

Doesn't Helm seem a lot more valuable to this team than Quincey? How can he be valued at less than half of what Quincey is making?

Quincey was downright horrible with his penalties and giveaways. If anyone watched him in Colorado, he was the same player there, cross-checking after interference after boarding every game. And for Team Canada in the World Championships? His turnover directly led to a Slovak goal in the game Canada was eliminated.

Sure he has size, speed, and a great shot, but he has a lot of killer weaknesses.

I have to agree with this post. The 2nd line of Hudler-Z-Filp has been incredibly soft, and unwilling to grind it out for some goals. Way too many perimeter plays, and they often turn it over with a perimeter pass that sends the other team racing down the ice for an offensive chance.

Remember the good old days of Franzen - Z - Cleary grinding out the goals in the playoffs? Well, Franzen is another story....

Cleary has been surprisingly good however considering he is playing on one leg :(

PS. We miss Helm. He would have scored a big goal by now.
