#2240468 World Juniors Tournament

Posted by SDavis35 on 31 December 2011 - 10:44 PM

This game is getting interesting now :)

Nice to see the USA showing what they really can do. Shame it came out in the final period of the tourney. Also a positive that Canada finally faced some adversity though, they're going to be in for a surprise if they make it to Russia/Sweden.

#2227920 Crosby coming back

Hopefully he still plays as well as he did when he left. Don't like him, but I'm hoping this teaches him how valuable the game is, and if we pray real hard... he'll be humble in returning.

Hey Dats, rest up on the weekend and be in there against Pittsburgh! I'll be at that game :innocent:

And then you'll for sure be good to go against Vancouver wednesday when I'll be there! :hehe:

Good solid game all around, but I'm not satisfied yet... can't just play one game and sit around the rest, let's see some consistent effort!

Let's hope for:

Young guys to keep stepping up.
Guys who are snake bit to score.
Someone to take it to the net
60 minutes of effort
A Wings WIN!

Quite possibly the best game all season. Howard looked real solid, hope he can keep that up definitely the better goaltender tonight.

3 for 3 in Canada! Go Wings! :siren:

Seeing as how both goalies are damn near allowing 3 goals against every game this past month I see it as more of a bad team defense issue. For people to call out Ozzie like he is a hero these past few games is ridiculous.

Come on... this is LGW, everything is ridiculous. Remember two months ago when these same people were calling for Ozzie's head? It's pretty simple, Ozzie screwed up on a softie, Howard's been average, and our defense hasn't been able to play a full 60, gotta work the kinks out soon, but I say Osgood's been making some big saves lately, and Howard was not. Howard's definitely working hard (imo) but things aren't hitting him and that's why we play the backup.

#2090006 Howard, Stuart, Eaves possible Tuesday against the Oil

Posted by SDavis35 on 03 January 2011 - 03:59 PM

Howard's slumping, Oilers suck, so let's break him out and get his confidence back with this. Still would like to see Ozzie get some more starts in the next few weeks and not just because of the back to back games.

Good news for Eaves and Stuart though.

The play-by-play radio announcer on KMOX was moaning about how "countless" penalties against Lidstrom could have been called in the game.

Well... it is hard to count to zero :P

#2047566 Wings need a goalie

Posted by SDavis35 on 15 October 2010 - 05:16 PM

After a year of bad play, you would think he would come out with something to prove. Show people why he's there. He has not. Rookies don't get the benefit of a defense excuse, neither should he.

I hope you'll let me assume you didn't like the way he played in the pre-season either. I think he's looked exactly like backup in his games this season, he makes the stops he's supposed to and hasn't been letting in the ones that deflect or screens. The problem is that last nite... every chance the Stars had seemed to go in. It was about the bounces, not the goalie. It was a BAD GAME. Even rookies are allowed to have bad games, even Brodeur has had a bad game, even Roy allowed 7 goals in a game. Osgood will be the backup, he will play fine, and the Wings will win 7 of their next ten. I see more heart from Ozzie this year, he wants to play well but things aren't going right. He'll suck it up and so should you.

I have to work, but I'll be checking for updates on my phone.
I have a checking line. :P

Wings take it 4-2. Avs tail off in the 3rd due to fatigue and Z gets the EN.

#2040080 10/3 Pre-season GDT: Pittsburgh Penguins at Red Wings

Posted by SDavis35 on 03 October 2010 - 05:41 PM

PIT is making Osgood go east to west which IMO Ozzie has never been good at that.

True, but I wouldn't say he had much of a chance on any of the goals. Plus the defence isn't playing anywhere near the caliber we know they can, and that's got me a little tense today.

An NHL goalie.

Really? Which one? I've never seen one stop any of those shots. Maybe 1 in 20 times a goalie could.

The Wings will start Tom McCollum in net
Bertuzzi also out tonight, Ritola gets his spot with Flip and Mule.

I hope these are just precautions and not true injuries...
